April 2021 newsletter

Hello fellow knitters,

Spring has finally sprung and Easter in upon us. I hope you all are enjoying getting outside and enjoying the sunshine and knitting wonderful things for warmer weather.

To everyone that joined us for the March program, thank you. I hope you learned something new and I think our member Marian did an excellent job. I have taken her pattern and started a reverse cabled scarf of my own and find I really am enjoying the process. Easy to memorize and do in the car (while I am a passenger). Thank you again Marian for sharing your talents with the members over the years. You are a wealth of knowledge that we are lucky to have in our midst.

Our upcoming programs include:

April 3, 9:00am. Jennifer Miller Presents Building in Color

Jennifer Susannah Miller, M.A. Yarn Designer, knitting Teacher and Speaker

Jennifer brings her background in marketing, psychology, counseling, art history, science, and metaphysics to the knitting classroom. A yarn and color designer, Jennifer is the creator of Theodora’s Pearls, internationally-known hand-painted and hand-dyed yarns, featuring unusual and luxury fibers. Jennifer is dedicated to promoting creative confidence in every knitter, enhancing knitting skills, and encouraging new and innovative experimentation in yarn! A self-taught artist, sourcing inspiration from the natural world, folk art, and historical textiles, she shares her own creative journey as an example of how you can express yourself through fiber, creating beauty, harmony, and functionality.

Jennifer’s popular classes include basic and advanced knitting technique, knitwear design, creativity, lacework, texture, and color design. Jennifer is known for her content-rich classes – chock-full of tips, tricks, shortcuts, and easy tools to enhance the creative process.

May 1, 9:00am. Jennifer Miller continues with her program in part 2: Working with hand painted yarns and bringing a skein you love to life. If you have a skein of hand painted yarn and you just don’t know what to do with it, please have it on hand and Jennifer will guide and inspire you.

June 5 9:00am Our very own Martha Amey will be presenting crochet basics for beautiful edges.

June 10-13. The Estes Park Wool Market is cancelled for this year but please go to Estesparkeventscomplex.com for a complete list of vendors that would greatly appreciate your support.

July 3rd. No Guild meeting. Hope you are enjoying the holiday with family and friends.

If you were unable to join us at the last guild meeting, you missed a fabulous knitting basket scavenger hunt with prizes and surprises. Well, the April meeting will be no different. Get ready for KNITTING BINGO. This is going to be FUN and of course I will provide more fabulous prizes for the winners! Thank you Eleanor!!

Looking forward to seeing you all.

Mari
